The 1784-KTCS card is a ControlNet scanner card. It is also an interface card which lets the 16-bit ISA or the 32-bit EISA-compatible computers communicate with the ControlNet networks. The power requirements for the 1784-KTCS card are 5 Volts DC and a maximum current of 640 milliamps. The operating card slot temperature range should be between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius and the non-operating slot temperature range is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The operating/non-operating relative humidity range is 5 to 95% (non-condensing). The operating vibration rating for the 1784-KTCS card is 10 to 150 Hertz with 0.012 inches displacement. The operating and non-operating shock ratings for the card are 30 G for 11 milliseconds duration and 50 G for 11 milliseconds duration, respectively.
The 1784-KTCS card is approved by the CE and FM standards. The software types which can be used for card configuration are the INTERCHANGE, WINtelligent LINX, IOLink, and RSLinx software from . Before the card is installed in a computer, the physical addresses for the ROM I/O expansion area of system memory and processor I/O map should be configured. Four 1784-KTCS cards can be installed in a computer as long as each card has a unique I/O space and base memory address. The 1784-KTCS card uses CMOS technology and it is therefore sensitive to ESD. To guard against ESD damage, the installers should take the following precautions: cards that are not in use should be stored in anti-static containers, the interface connector pins and backplane connector should not be touched, and a grounded object should be touched prior to handling the card.
