The Guard I/O DeviceNet Safety Module with catalog number 1791DS-IB8XOB8 is a safety output module with solid state outputs. This module has embedded I/O modules such as Eight (8) Safety Input, Eight (8) Solid State outputs and Four (4) Test Outputs.

The 1791DC-IB8XOB8 module comes with an enclosure with Ingress Protection (IP) 20 rating. It can be used in applications that require Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3. It complies with the IEC 61508 standard, and Safety Category 4 as specified in the EN 954-1.

The safety inputs are designed for Sink wiring configuration with minimum On state voltage of 11VDC and input current of 6 mA. The Test output channels support sourcing configuration with rated output current of 0.7A with maximum residual voltage of 1.2V and maximum leakage current of 0.1 mA. The Safety outputs supports sourcing wiring as well, with rated output current of 0.5A, maximum residual voltage of 1.2V and maximum leakage current of 0.1 mA.

This Guard I/O DeviceNet safety module is configured using Studio 5000 Environment with software version 21. It may also be used with RSLogix 5000 Version 17. Additionally, network communication and configuration software such as RSNetWorkx for DeviceNet version 8 and RSLinx communication software version 8 are required.
