Product Overview

The GE PCIE-5565PIORC-100A00 is a PCI Express reflective memory node card for high-speed deterministic data exchange over a fiber-optic network. As a member of the 5565 Reflective Memory family, it allows multiple computers, PLCs, and embedded controllers to share data through a common reflective memory space without requiring software-managed network transfers. Data written to the local memory of one node is automatically replicated to every other node on the network, providing consistent memory images with minimal latency. The reflective memory network operates over a 2.125 Gbaud fiber-optic link and can connect as many as 256 nodes in either ring or star network topologies. The board incorporates dedicated transmit and receive FIFOs together with an independent DMA channel, allowing data transfers to occur with little or no processor involvement.
