The 1746-NI16I is an analog (high density) Input/Output module. The module has 16 channels and it operates at a voltage category of between -20 and 20 V DC. The 1746-NI16I draws a current of 125mA and 75mA at 5 and 24 V DC respectively from the backplane, it has an isolation voltage of 500V AC and 710V DC tested for 60s. The 1746-NI16I has a resolution of 16-bits. For A/D conversion, the module uses the Sigma Delta method. The 1746-NI16I has a maximum of 20.5 V common mode voltage range which can also be calculated by +/-10.25V from the analog common terminal (relative).
The 1746-NI16I has an input resistance rating of 249 ohms, a voltage input (max. without damage) rated at +/-8V between the input terminal and the analog terminal and it has a maximum current input rated at +/-30mA between the input and analog terminal. The 1746-NI16I analog input module detects an open circuit in less than 5 seconds, and it has a resolution of 640nA and 0.3% for input and display, respectively. The 1746-NI16I has a 360nA/ degree Celsius offset drift (input with temperature), a 20ppm per degree Celsius gain drift (plus temperature), and a module error (full temp.) rating of 0.08 percent and 0.15 percent (full scale) at 25 and 60 degrees Celsius, respectively.
