The 1756-M16SE is a ControlLogix SERCOS Interface module. This module supports up to Sixteen (16) drives and supports SERCOS data rate of 4 Mbps and 8 Mbps respectively. It has control modes including Physical, Velocity and Torque. It is installed to any slot of a 1756 Chassis.
The 1756-M16SE is an ControlLogix SERCOS Integrated Motion Module. This SERCOS interface module is a link between the ControlLogix platform and the intelligent servo drives. The 1756-M16SE is an enclosure-free (open) controller and digital drive interface made for rapid real-time serial communication through its fiber-optic cables which are noise-immune. The 1756-M16SE module is compatible with RSLogix 5000 motion instructions set and with axis configuration utilities.

The 1756-M16SE has 16 axes per module and 32 axes per controller. Its SERCOS data rate is either 4 or 8 Mb/s and its SERCOS cycle time is 1 ms for as many as 4 drives at 4 Mb/s and it is 0.5 ms for as many as 4 drives at 8 Mb/s. The control modes regulate velocity, torque, and precision. The 1756-M16SE’s current draw is 760 mA at 5V DC and 2.4 mA at 24V DC.
