The 1769-L32E is a 1769 CompactLogix controller from the 5370 CompactLogix family. This controller has embedded 750Kbytes memory, One (1) Ethernet and One (1) RS232 communication port. It supports up to Sixteen (16) Compact I/O modules and supports up to Three (3) expansion banks. This controller is programmed and configured using RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 Logix Designer.

This default configuration may be manually configured to establish initial communication to the device. If used with RSLinx, auto-configure maybe used to automatically detect the communication settings. This same RS232 port may also be configured as ASCII protocol interface to connect to barcode instruments, typically used in manufacturing process.
