The 1770-FE keyboard is a PLC-3 keyboard for the 1770-T4 W, 1770-KDA, and 1770-KDB Industrial Terminal systems. The keyboard is used with Series B industrial terminal monitors.
The 1770-FE PLC-3 keyboard module is a Series A keyboard. The keyboard contains a touchpad that is sealed and PROMs that are used for keyboard instructions that in turn are used during the programming of the PLC-3 processor. The keyboard is shipped together with PLC-3 keytop overlay, and the users can also order an optional graphics overlay. When the industrial terminal is not in use, it is advisable to use the front cover to safeguard the keyboard and CRT screen. Also, the users can store equipment that is not in use, including extra cables or keytop overlays, on the terminal. The keyboard connector cover is used to safeguard the connectors on the terminal's front side after removing the keyboard.
the 1770-FE PLC-3 keyboard to the terminal, make sure to follow all the right steps. First: switch off the industrial terminal system power. Second: unfasten the mounting screws on the connector cover of the keyboard and take out the cover. Third: lift and shift the keyboard’s locking lever to the "UNLOCK" position. Fourth: ensure the 2 keyboard support pins align with the bushings located on the front side of the chassis and install the keyboard. Fifth and finally: lift and shift the lever to the "LOCK" position.
