The 1784-KTCX15 card is a ControlNet communication interface card. The 1784-KTCX15 card is used in applications that require communication between ControlNet networks and a 32-bit EISA-compatible or a 16-bit ISA-compatible computer. The ControlNet network is a high-speed deterministic network used for the transmission of time-critical application information. ControlNet also allows the transport of non-time critical data without affecting the transport of critical data.

ControlNet provides real-time messaging and control services for peer-to-peer communication. ControlNet can replace DH+ and remote I/O links because it provides a high-speed communication link between I/O devices and programmable controllers. Personal computers, operator interfaces, drives, controllers, and other devices can be connected to ControlNet networks.

There are two ControlNet status indicators on the front panel of the 1784-KTCX15 card. In addition, there is a ControlNet network access port (RJ45 connector) and ControlNet redundant media (BNC connectors) on the front panel of the card.
