The 1794-ASB Series E adapter module is a remote I/O adapter by . It is a small, modular I/O system for distributed applications that can perform all the functions of rack-based I/O. It supports a maximum of 8 modules. The adapter runs with an external power supply rated at 450 mA at 24 Volts DC. It dissipates 4.2 Watts of power under normal operation. The adapter uses a communication rate of 57.6, 115.2, or 230.4 Kbps.

The 1794-ASB Series E adapter module is equipped with diagnostic indicators for status updates during operation. These indicators are located on the front panel of the adapter module. They show both normal operation and error conditions in the remote I/O system.

The indicators are the green power-on indicator, the green adapter active indicator, the red adapter fault indicator, and the red local fault indicator. The adapter module features a rest push button that resets the adapter module and resumes the communication after a communication error occurs

The 1794-ASB Series E adapter module is sensitive to electrostatic discharge which can cause internal damage to the module and affect its operation. Before installation, the module should be properly earthed and it should also be kept in static-safe packaging. The module can be mounted by using a DIN Rail.

The module can be controlled and configured by using the FlexLogix controller platform. The outer layer of the module is conformally coated and it comes with an enclosure that has an IP 20 rating. The 1794-ASB Series E adapter can only be used in indoor locations.

The adapter comes with the processor restart lockout feature which restarts the communication when the PRL is disabled during a communication fault. offers a 12-month warranty that starts from the installation date of the module.
