The 2080-MEMBAK-RTC is a Micro800 series plug-in module featuring a memory backup feature and a real-time clock. It is a specialty type plug-in module manufactured by Automation that also has a high-accuracy RTC and it supports removal and insertion under power (RIUP).

The primary use of the 2080-MEMBAK-RTC module is to create a backup copy of a project in the controller while simultaneously adding a precision timestamp to it, without the need for calibration or periodic updates.

This module does not function as data storage for datalog and recipe data, nor can it be used for additional Run-Time Programs. Note that the Micro810 and Micro820 controllers do not support the 2080-MEMBAK-RTC module and it can only be installed on the leftmost plug-in slot of the controller. Plug-in modules like the 2080-MEMBAK-RTC module allow you to extend the functions of the embedded I/O without sacrificing your controller’s footprint and it can also increase functionality in terms of communication.

A red status indicator is available on the 2080-MEMBAK-RTC and this indicator informs you if the startup cycle test of the module is in progress, back up is in progress, or when the battery is low. It has a mounting torque of 0.2 Nm or 1.48 lb•in and its terminal screw torque ranges from 0.22-0.25 Nm or 1.95-2.21 lb•in. The maximum surrounding air temperature of the 2080-MEMBAK-RTC drive is 65 oC, the operating temperature is -20-65 oC, and the non-operating temperature is -40-85 oC.
