Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330910-00-02-05-01-CN is an eddy-current proximity probe from the 3300 XL NSv series that targets industrial applications requiring precise vibration, radial position, and axial displacement monitoring in confined spatial geometries or small machinery targets. The primary uses for the 3300 XL NSv Transducer System are for areas where counter bore, sideview, or rearview restrictions limit the use of standard Bently Nevada 3300 and 3300 XL 5 and 8 mm Transducer Systems. It is also ideal for small target applications, such as measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in) or axial position on flat targets smaller than 15 mm (0.6 in). The 3300 XL NSv Transducer System design allows it to replace both the 3300 RAM Transducer Systems and the 3000-series or 7000-series 190 Transducer System.
Application:
Centrifugal and Compressors Systems: Extensively used to monitor fluid-filmed bearings in centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, and process gas compressors. It manages structural monitoring where standard probes face tight rear or side view physical constraints.
Small-Diameter Turbo-Machinery: Optimized for shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 inches) or flat axial targets under 15 mm (0.6 inches). It prevents cross-talk and electromagnetic field interference in narrow spaces.
Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Plants: Deployed on offshore platforms, dry gas seal control structures, and desert gas compression stations because its polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip and robust FEP insulated cabling provide superior chemical and temperature resistance (-52°C to +177°C).
Power Generation Facilities: Mounted within gas and steam turbines to handle bearing vibration analysis (X-Y radial vibration configuration) and absolute thrust position detection during severe thermal expansion shifts.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q:What is the linear range of this probe?
A:The linear range begins at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from the target face, offering a total linear range of roughly 1.5 mm. If used on exceptionally small shaft diameters under 13 mm (0.5 inches), you should reduce the gap to minimize target curvature errors.
Q:Is this probe backward compatible with older systems?
A:Yes. The 3300 NSv probe series is mechanically and electrically interchangeable with legacy 3300 RAM probes. However, if you are upgrading an older 3000 or 7000 series system, you must replace the entire assembly: the probe, extension cable, and the Proximitor sensor preamplifier.
Q:What are the main applications for the 3300 NSv series?
A:The 3300 NSv Transducer System is engineered for tight installation spaces with counterbore, sideview, or rearview restrictions that limit standard probes. It is primarily deployed on high-speed rotating equipment such as centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, and process gas compressors. It is also ideal for small target targets, such as measuring radial vibration on shafts under 51 mm (2 inches).
