This unit is one of the SPM-A synchronizer modules, available for sale from AX Control Inc. The SPM-A series was originally produced and manufactured by Woodward Inc. These units are built to properly manage and accurately parallel the frequency and phase, while biasing the speed levels. These units have completely adjustable parameters and dynamics. These dynamics need to be altered when attached to a particular engine. With smaller engines, the dynamics have to be set to fast speeds, while larger turbomachinery, like diesel engines and gas and steam turbines, require slower dynamic settings. The 9907-029 module is one of the more advanced units in the Woodward SPM-A line. This unit is designed with a similar specification set to another unit, the 9905-001 model. The frequency range that the 9907-029 is capable of handling is a common SPM-A range, 50 to 60 hertz. The phase angle has a limit of plus or minus 10 degrees, to allow for some ease when matching the angle. The 9907-029 unit is one of the models in the series that comes outfitted with voltage matching capabilities. The rate that it is able to match at is a total of 1 percent. The input and output specifications are standard. The inputs have a voltage range of 115 to 230 volts of alternating current, and a tolerance of plus or minus 10%. When operational, the inputs have a power consumption of 5 W. The 9907-029’s outputs are designed with both high impedance and low impedance for 2301 load sharing, and 2301A/EPG/2500 load sharing, respectively.
