The IS200VTURH1BAC is designed as a Primary Turbine Protection card within the GE MKVI Speedtronic system. This control system, which can be built to offer either simplex or triple modular redundant control, has built-in IONet (Ethernet) communications and allows users to access most important data from a central Operator interface.

The IS200VTURH1BAC is used for several functions. This includes

Measuring turbine speed/generating primary overspeed trip
Controlling overspeed relays located on the TRPx boards
Monitoring induced shaft current and alarming when levels are excessive
Monitoring induced shaft voltage and alarming when levels are excessive
Monitoring (8) Geiger-Mueller flame detectors (gas turbines only)
The IS200VTURH1BAC has a narrow front faceplate with only a few components mounted on its surface. This includes one d-shell connector for connecting a cable, three LED indicators, and two pin clips for locking the board in place within the rack system.
