The Bently Nevada 330910-00-03-05-01-CN is a 3300 XL NSv Proximity Probe for vibration and displacement monitoring on small-scale rotating machinery. Its design prioritizes tight installation constraints, such as tight side-view clearances, counterbores, or compact targets. Q:What is the linear range of this proximity sensor?
A:The linear range begins approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) away from the observed target face. Ensure your electrical gap is set correctly using a digital multimeter or a static calibrator during installation to stay well within its defined linear measurement bounds.
Q:Is this probe backwards compatible with older Bently Nevada hardware?
A:The 3300 NSv probe is mechanically and electrically interchangeable with the legacy 3300 RAM series. If you are replacing an old 3300 RAM probe, you can use your existing extension cable and monitor. However, if you are upgrading a 3000-series or 7000-series system, you must swap out the probe, extension cable, and the Proximitor sensor entirely for NSv components.
Q:Can this probe be used on very small shafts?
A:Yes, it is explicitly optimized for small targets. It can accurately measure targets down to 15 mm (0.6 in) for axial position and shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in) for radial vibration. However, if your shaft diameter drops below 13 mm (0.5 in), you should expect a change in the scale factor.
